This Leather Information Page is where you may read about the different leathers I use here at Von Bondage.  There is a variety of different leathers for different disciplines, as well as many colors.  On request I can swap a certain leather for another if the style of the collar or restraint allows it. (some leather may be too thick for certain styles)  Please read below for further details of the different leathers used.

10oz Latigo Leather Hides   These Latigo Harness hides are Kings of super-smooth.  They are used for the firm, all black colored BDSM/Bondage Collars, and Leather Restraints; These hides are 10oz thick (4mm) and have a blend of greases and waxes rubbed into them. This leather offers the perfect combination of stuffing, flexibility, strength and beauty.  This leather is made from extra heavy native steer hides that are not split, to keep maximum strength.  It is very similar to the Chahin Bridle Leather with a tad bit more flexibility, hence why I use it for collars and restraints, and the bridle leather is used primarily for bondage accessories.  These hides are supple and flexible, with a smooth waxy finish on both the top grain side and the flesh side (underneath). They are quite mellow and have a broken in feel as well as stiff enough to keep there shape.

Chahin Bridle Leather     This leather is one more example of innovation and expertise in tanning. This premier Chahin “English” Bridle Leather is the best  I’ve found offered by any veg tanner.  This leather is available in Black and Rich Brown. The real value is found in the feel and heft of this leather. It is drum dyed for true dye penetration and is stuffed with greases, tallows and waxes that make it weather resistant, only more refined than harness leather.  While this leather is not tanned and curried in England, it is in many ways superior in price, yield, finish and feel. It is 9/11oz thick. (4mm) I use this leather for all Leather Bondage Accessories like Leashes, Bed Restraints and Hogties. The Rich Brown color is available in all of my BDSM/Bondage Collars and Restraints. The Brown looks beautiful in Brass! 

9/10oz Chahin Veg-tan Sides  For the Red-Trim Leather Lines I use Natural Strapping Leather tanned by the Chahin Tannery. These hides are firm and 100% veg tanned with no harsh chemicals. These firm 10oz hides have a subtle open grain which is perfect for dyeing. The Chahin team takes the finest steer hides and tans them the old-fashioned way using a tightly-controlled process that utilizes tree bark and other natural tannins for leather that offers the ultimate in beauty and workability. I hand dye each side black and then apply various Leather Conditioners. Once the collars and cuffs are cut from the hand I can bevel the edges and hand dye them with that gorgeous bright red trim! Once the red dye is on I finalize the top grain with a Resist & Finish top gloss to seal everything in!

Patent Leather Sides   These super shiny chrome-tanned patent leathers are from about 1.5-2mm thick (3.5-4oz). I bond them to the Supersoft Telfair leather sides I have in stock which are kept for the patents and the colored leathers. These patents have a highly lustrous baked enamel appearance and a heavy finish which resists piping. Other patent leathers may be left with ugly creases when bent, but my supplier’s tannery has perfected the finish on the patent leather to prevent piping. Because of its chrome tannage, this patent leather is softer and bends easier than veg tanned patent leather. Once I combine the Telfair and patent hides, these make for some serious thicknesses of about 8-9oz of pure sinful luxury.  The patent leather lines come in earthy whorish red, and sinfully corrupt black and are very glossy on top making them PERFECT for fetish photography. The patent leathers are available by “Leather Choice” for all of my listings, but I also have a separate section for Patent Leather Restraints and Patent Leather Bondage Collars in the drop down menus.

Colored Leather Hides    Hailing from the Napa Valley, these soft tempered upholstery hides called Motochap, are very lush and brightly colored!  These chrome-tanned, colorful leather hides bring an extra soft feel, as well as bring some bold new colors to the Bondage Collars and Restraints!!!  The Motochap hides are 3.5oz thick and is bonded to my Supersoft Telfair leather hides for extra thickness, comfort, as well as contrast. All in all the colored leather line is about 9oz thick and make for very lush bondage wear. Color Leather choices are available in all listings in the “Bondage Collars Full Leather Options” section as well as their own section. In the Restraints section you can choose a color in any listing’s “Leather Choice” option box in both the Nickel and Nickel Free sections for Restraints. The Colors have their own sections as well.

Soft Black w/Color Inlay   - These hides are just the reverse of the Color Lines.  If you would like to have all black BDSM gear that is a soft form fitting leather (as opposed to the stricter belt-type leathers like the Latigo and Bridle Lines) then this line is for you! In this line the supersoft Telfair leather is on top and the Motochap Napa Leather is underneath. The BDSM/Bondage Collars, Bondage Accessories and Restraints made using this leather-line all come with a color liner on the inside of cuffs and straps leaving the black leather on the top part so that when the collar or cuffs are worn, 99% of it is black with just a peek-a-boo color accent showing on the edges of the strap(s) and/or cuffs. Excellent choice for those that love black as the main color but are looking for a unique accent.

Sheepskin Line -   This line of BDSM gear is made using more exotic types of leathers.  I have very soft sheepskin shearling that is available in straight and curly fleeces as well as several colours. The sheepskin lining has about a 1/2” long shag to it. The colors available are Black, Light Pink, White, Cream, Gray and Curly Beige. The sheepskin hides are bonded to Bullhide or Bison hides. The Bullhide is available in red, cream and black and is very thick with a heavy weight and pronounced top grain. It is form-fitting and extremely soft on the skin. The Brown Tucson Bison hide has a shrunken grain (so more tight folds and fissures) and transparent waxy top coat. Sheepskin can be quite warm so its worth remembering this for summer-time. The collars and cuffs are also made to fit you on the LARGER side of the holes so that you may tighten down over time as the fleece flattens with wear.

 Soft Bison w/Red Bullhide    The Grand-Master in my Arsenal of Leather Hides!  This stunning combination of the finest Moccasin grade bison with its decadently soft red bullhide interior makes for an amazingly soft padded choice for restraints and collars.  The soft bison is used in the moccasin making industry for its light-weight satiny velvet feel while the red bullhide leather is the softest bullhide I have in stock.  This combo of leathers is about 10-11oz thick. The Bison has natural creases and marking making no 2 hides alike.

Cognac Laredo Bullhide w/Buttercream Inlay -  This caramel colored line is decadent, stylish, as well as comfortable. The Laredo Bullhide is a 5-6oz thick leather that has a medium temper and a waxy sheen. There is a well defined bubble-grain effect that makes it look like bison leather. The coloring can vary from a light caramel with some golden swirling to a milk chocolate brown. Bonded to this leather is a Buttercream color leather called Arizona. This aniline hide is 5oz thick, chrome-tanned and is fabulously soft to the touch. The buttercream color provides a striking color contrast to the brown and is soft on the skin. The leather all in all is about 10oz thick. Why not look absolutely fabulous while being demeaned, tethered and tied?

Tucson Bison w/Cream Bullhide- This heavy grained bison leather is bonded to a luxurious cream bullhide and has a wonderful color contrast to it. The cream bullhide is very thick, and extremely soft. The Bison used is genuine American Bison which is a by-product of free range bison raised for meat consumption. The leather is then treated with an environmentally friendly tanning process resulting in only the highest quality leather. The top layer is the Tucson Bison leather which comes is a deep bourbon to a whiskey tan coloring. Each hide is a little bit different and color as well as texture to the top grain can vary within a single hide. No 2 hides are alike. The grain is deep and heavy making for a unique hide with plenty of texture. The bullhide underneath is luxuriously soft on the skin. This is the thickest of my hides at around 12oz. This line looks excellent with Brass Hardware/Fittings.

Bullhide w/Lambskin Inlay- This line is amazingly soft and not quite as thick as the other Exotic Leather lines. The top leather is the sumptuous Bullhide Leather which is 6-8oz thick. This extremely soft leather has an eye-catching pronounced top grain to it and is available in red or black. Bonded to the bullhide is a lambskin lining. Lambskin’s special qualities are its buttery satiny softness on the skin, as well as its richness is colour. These are premium hides that are processed in the tradition of Italian craftsmanship and are done with a semi-aniline finish. The available lambskin colours are red, purple and baby pink. This line is perfect for littles or submissives who have sensitive skin.

Black Bullhide w/Bison- This leather line is for customers who would like a luxuriously soft Bondage Collar or pair of Restraints but in all black with no color. The Bullhide w/Bison line is all black and is extremely soft and thick. The leather combo is about 11-12oz thick in total. The inside leather that goes against the skin is the Bison. This genuine American Bison is a by-product of free range bison raised for meat consumption. Bison is considered the Granddaddy of the country's top custom moccasin makers. The bullhide leather is soft and form fitting. A wonderful heavy grade, pronounced top grain with a pebbly appearance gives it a unique look. This leather is treated with an environmentally friendly tanning process resulting in only the highest quality leather.

Leopard w/Brown Inlay- This line is available in 2 variations for the Restraints and Strap & Cuff style BDSM collars. The leopard print leather is a new line for 2020! This leather is chrome-tanned and has a soft matt finish for a high-end look. Its about 3-4oz thick and is smooth on top. I bond this hide to an amazingly soft Walnut brown leather called ‘Arizona’ which I get from the Napa Valley. This leather has a soft, silky touch and is made with oils to ensure a classic rich look and hand. This leather is 5-5.5oz thick making for a total thickness of the Leopard Line to be 8/9oz. When choosing this line you will have the choice to have the straps with the leopard side up and placed on the cuffs with the brown side up so the leopard is against the skin, or you can have FULL LEOPARD with the brown being on the inside. One is much more blingy than the other. This option is only available on the Restraints or the Strap & Cuff Bondage Collars.

Vegan Line - This line has 3 different materials for Vegans! I have the Venus Vegan Leather Line which is 100% top quality vegan leather collection made with eco-friendly, non-toxic, animal-free, and sustainably sourced materials with a low environmental impact. You have 3 color choices; black, red, chocolate. This Vegan Leather line feels like cow leather and is bonded to a material called microfiber to make it EXTRA thick. The bondage accessories, collars and restraints made in this line are about 3mm thick!! The interior microfiber material is black. The Venus Vegan leather is made 35% Eco PU, 65% Nylon.  The other material I offer is PVC sheeting. It is 1/4" thick and super-duper shiny! East to wash and care for, this line is really flashy and comfortable since I bevel all of the edges to make them rounded so they do not feel sharp on the skin. This line is great for those of you that would like a bit of bling.
